Smartlipo (Laser-Assisted Liposuction)
Smartlipo™ Laser-Assisted Liposuction is a new technique used in performing liposuction. This technique removes fat by literally melting the fat cells with a laser, while using a small cannula technique to reshape and sculpture your body and bring desired results. The laser-assisted method is gentler than traditional liposuction because the liposuction cannula doesn’t have to have as much force to move through the tissues. Because of this, there is usually less swelling and bruising with laser-assisted liposuction.
Unlike traditional liposuction, you get an effect of skin tightening along with fat removal. The laser heats the dermal layer, which in turn causes stimulation of the collagen matrix. More collagen equals a smoother result and skin tightening effect.
This procedure is done in-office using tumescent anesthesia. By using this method it allows for minimal blood loss and markedly faster recovery times. The patient is aware of the procedure and without the attendant risk of general anesthesia.

Lipoabdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Abdominoplasty or “Tummy Tuck” surgery remains the most requested elective procedure for those struggling with loose skin or flabby tummies and have not benefited from diet and exercise. This area is aesthetically more complex than just achieving a flat surface, which is why Dr. Schilling is now performing an advanced technique called LIPOABDOMINOPLASTY.
Liposuction, particularly our laser-assisted SmartLipo, allows us to sculpt and define the upper abdominal area, hips and waist creating the true shape you desire. Traditional tummy tuck surgeons often leave too much upper abdominal fat and fail to liposculpt the waist and hips which will typically create the “muffin-top deformity”. A “muffin-top” occurs when the stomach area is flat but the tissue over the hips bulges.
